Favourable Government Policy & Schemes in Vietnam’s Logistics Sector

Vietnam’s government has laid out a Logistics Services Development Strategy (2025–2035, vision to 2050) to strengthen the logistics industry as a high-value, efficient and globally competitive sector.

Ambitious growth targets: logistics sector to grow 12–15% annually, contributing 5–7% of GDP by 2035.

Infrastructure push: The strategy prioritizes development of at least five modern international-standard logistics centers, including smart warehouses and logistics parks.

Cost reduction: logistics costs are to be cut to 12–15% of GDP, boosting efficiency and competitiveness.

Digital and green transformation: 80% of logistics firms are encouraged to adopt digital solutions; half of logistics vehicles are to shift to clean energy by 2035.

International ambition: Vietnam aims to break into the top 40 countries in the World Bank’s Logistics Performance Index (LPI).

Legal and regulatory reform: Policies aim to simplify administrative procedures, digitalize customs, and set national standards for logistics centers to create a more attractive investment environment.
